The singer was recognized by the Dominican General Consulate in Puerto Rico, as well as by the Municipality of San Juan and the House of Representatives.
During the framework of the celebration of the Dominican Independence Day in February , the Dominican Consulate in Puerto Rico recognized the 45-year career of the Queen of Merengue, Milly Quezada, who joined the raising act of the Dominican tricolor flag.
“We are two flags united under one MERENGUE”, Quezada’s said. They are honoring me and I have to reciprocate that because it is something indescribable how people merge with the artist and with the music, which becomes the musical framework of life”, said the interpreter, who was received with kisses and hugs by the people around the Consulate.
The Dominican celebration began on January 26 and runs until March 9, in celebration of the 179 years of independence of the Caribbean country.
“Milly is a volunteer ambassador for the Dominican Republic, where she has placed the name of our country throughout the world and she has always raised our flag with her behavior, with her talent. It is wonderful that in this month of the homeland she celebrates 45 years of career and that she comes here to celebrate it, ”said César Cedeño, consul of the Dominican Republic in Puerto Rico to EL VOCERO.
The singer was also distinguished by the Municipality of San Juan and the House of Representatives of Puerto Rico.
Quezada will perform on March 4 at the Coca-Cola Music Hall, with the concert ¡Viva la Reina! Tickets available at Ticketera.
